Gas hub and LNG
Ukraine has all the prerequisites for creating a gas hub.
First of all, the infrastructural one. Significant capacities of gas storages can become a physical basis for the hub because they will allow traders and other market participants to concentrate large volumes of blue fuel. The location of Ukraine on transit routes and the significant capacity of the Ukrainian GTS will allow not only to store but also to transport of significant volumes of gas.
In addition, Ukraine has a fairly large domestic market and large volumes of gas production. These factors are additional potential for liquidity that even the most successful European hubs had.
At the same time, Ukraine can become an active player in the LNG market due to the need to look for new directions of trade and cooperation to ensure the load of its own gas transportation system.
